The Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Introduction

Two goals set me off on this project. Firstly, I wanted to find out about the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Secondly, as a teacher excited by the web, I wanted to find out how well it can be used for an unprepared research project—i.e. from scratch.

Briefly, I did find out about the gardens, and also proved that the web—flawed as it is—most certainly can be used for this kind of project. It's all in the process.

So follow along here, if you like. The menu on the left gives a clear overview of the approach, the materials, the issues, and the conclusions. And in the text, I've indicated my non-web sources very clearly—you'll find there are almost none of them. This is very exciting.
